ADAS Repair Calibration Working Group

Note: The ADAS Repair and Calibration Group has now been integrated into the Repairability Working Group. Refer to the Team Leader of the Repairability Working Group.

Mission/Goal

  • Establish standards for evaluating the repairability and calibration of vehicles’ Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) following low and high-speed collisions
    • Restoration of post repair ADAS system performance
    • Calibration of ADAS
  • Review vehicle design and calibration practices collectively, incorporating the knowledge and expertise of participating members to help in the following areas:
    • Vehicle manufacturers need to understand the need for a consistent approach to ensure system calibration repairability is considered during vehicle design
    • Based on global vehicle designs, calibration repairability considerations should be based on the same premise
    • ADAS Calibration options should incorporate a common sense approach that provides repairers worldwide with the ability to safely return a vehicle to pre-damage condition
    • ADAS Calibration options should be based on prescribed training, equipment and expertise that can be applied on a global basis in car repair workshops
    • Engage vehicle manufactures to pro-actively share knowledge and ideas to collectively develop ADAS calibration and repair options and alternatives
