Cesvimap is MAPFRE’s R&D hub, specialized in innovation applied to mobility and the insurance sector. As an innovation laboratory, we focus on developing new products and services based on Usage-Based Insurance (UBI) technologies. Our work seeks to encourage safe driving, prevent accidents, and support Mapfre in leading the transformation of the insurance industry.

With a global perspective and a technology-driven approach, we research new mobility, as well as the performance of emerging technologies. To do so, we design, develop, test, and implement practical and innovative solutions that help shape the future of mobility and the automotive aftermarket.

 

Who we are
Cesvimap—Mapfre’s Centro de Experimentación y Seguridad Vial— acts as the company’s innovation laboratory for UBI-based products and services. Our mission is to contribute globally to mobility by driving the ideation, development, experimentation, and implementation of solutions that support the transformation of the insurance sector and related industries.

We have long been at the forefront of studying new forms of mobility, including electrified vehicles and PMVs, to ensure that their technology meets the highest safety standards. Our research also covers areas such as certified crash test analysis, the definition of efficient repair processes, and comprehensive traffic accident reconstruction—including the study of vehicle fires.

 

A global benchmark in automotive technology
Cesvimap is an open and collaborative technology center, offering services to key players in the automotive aftermarket: insurance companies, vehicle manufacturers, official dealers, independent repair shops, technical schools, etc. We bring together research, technological innovation, practical experimentation, training, consultancy, and knowledge dissemination.

We also integrate environmental responsibility into all our activities. Through CESVIrecambios, our Authorized Treatment Facility (ATF) for end-of-life vehicles, we promote circular economy practices and generate value for society. Cesvimap has held UNE-EN ISO 14001 certification since 2002, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability, and UNE-EN ISO 9001 certification since 2001, reflecting our high-quality standards in training.
